Children’s authors Anne and Lizzy Rockwell present their latest book, Library Day

Meet mother and daughter Anne and Lizzy Rockwell when they visit to talk about their latest book, Library Day Friday, March 18, 4 p.m., in theMemorial Room at the Main Library, 1080 Old Post Road.

This special author event is presented in partnership with the Fairfield University Bookstore, who will be on hand with books available for purchase and signing. Registration is requested.

Library Day is a new picture book about a young boy visiting the library for the very first time. While he’s there he listens to stories, reads books and magazines, and learns that there are also movies, crafts, chess, and puppet shows-something for everyone! With simple, lyrical text and bright illustrations that jump off the page, Library Day brings the joys of reading vividly to life. This book is for ages 4-8.

Author Anne Rockwell has been writing and illustrating books since 1961. She has more than a hundred books to her credit and collaborated on many of them with her late husband, illustrator Harlow Rockwell, including At the Beach and The First Snowfall. She is still collaborating, now with her talented daughter Lizzy. She lives in Stamford, Connecticut.

Lizzy Rockwell is the illustrator of over twenty-five children’s books by a variety of authors, including her mother. She is the author/illustrator of Plants Feed Me, Good Enough to Eat: A Kid’s Guide to Food and Nutrition, Hello Baby! and The Busy Body Book: A Kid’s Guide to Fitness. She lives and works in Bridgeport, Connecticut.
