Heather-Marie Montilla, executive director of Pequot Library announces her relocation to Michigan, due to her husband’s promotion.

“I love Pequot Library and how much we have done, along with my staff, in a short time. We have accomplished so much together and have taken critical strides in bringing our Special Collections more broadly to the general public and to under-resourced communities. We have created fun and engaging programs that have engaged the community in new ways. Despite moving to Michigan I’m dedicated to try to determine the best way to be of value to Pequot Library. I’m committed to continuing to support our efforts.”

Pequot Library’s President of the Board of Trustees, Alison Barry, commented, “Heather helps make Pequot Library more relevant to the community — intellectually, socially, and emotionally. She brings passion, knowledge, and new ideas to Pequot Library and those are the qualities we will be looking for in a new executive director.”

The Board of Trustees plan to launch a thoughtful search for its next executive director. It will take great care to find the right candidate who is caring, compassionate, and capable to lead this cherished institution. Until a new executive director is found, the organization will be led by Alison Barry, president of the board, Nicholas Morello, Jr., executive vice president, and Doug Fried, assistant treasurer, supported by dedicated staff and volunteers.
