Deadline extended for Young Writers’ Competition

The deadline for the Easton Arts Council’s sixth annual Young Writers Competition has been extended to Sunday, March 6. Students in Easton, Redding, Newtown, Monroe, Trumbull, Fairfield, Westport and Weston are invited to enter.

“Your most memorable hometown experience,” real or imagined, is the topic for this year’s competition. Entries may be prose, poetry, play or screenplay. Typed manuscripts are limited to five pages maximum. All entries must be submitted to [email protected] no later than Sunday, March 6.

Each entry will be evaluated on originality, quality of writing and interpretation of theme. Prize-winning entries will be announced on March 7, and read aloud at the Easton Arts Council’s Youth Art and Talent Show on Sunday, March 13.

For questions, call Joanne Kant, 203-261-9160.
