Thousands without power

More than 3,000 in dark in Fairfield, Easton

More than 2,200 homes and businesses in Fairfield are without power Thursday, Feb. 25, after storms that brought high winds and lightning to the area Wednesday night.

ui-truck-fileAs of 7:20 Thursday morning, United Illuminating reported 28 incidents in Fairfield, leaving 2,240 homes and businesses dark.

Another 900 homes and businesses are without power in Easton due to six incidents, according to UI.

Fairfield schools opened on schedule Thursday, although there were delays in some towns.

Rivers to the east are subject to flood watches.
