Tim Kane, Charlie Kane, Chase Lind win FCIAC titles

Danbury High crowned six individual champions and took home the Joe Sikorski FCIAC Wrestling championship a New Canaan on Saturday. Trumbull High had three individual champions and placed second. Fairfield Warde, with two titleists, was third. Fairfield Ludlowe, with one champion, placed fourth.

Andrew Marquis (195 pounds), Solomon James (220 pounds), Jakob Camacho (113 pounds), Chris Sam (120 pounds), Joey Hulse (126 pounds) and Jeremy Fields (138 pounds) placed first for coach Ricky Shook’s Hatters.

For coach Niko Filippakis’ Trumbull Eagles, Desmond Washington was the heavyweight champ. Matt Ryan took home the 106-pound title. Joey Ryan was the 170-pound champ.

Coach Jason Shaughnessy’s Warde team was led by Charlie Kane and Tim Kane, who won the 132 and 145-pound titles, respectively.

Ludlowe coach Nick Garofalo’s Chase Lind was the 160-pound champion.

Lind and Tim Kane were named Most Outstanding Wrestlers.

Danbury’s Chris Sam won the Fastest Fall Award.
