Police seek bicycle thief caught on camera

Fairfield police have released video of a theft at the Fairfield train station in the hopes of catching the culprit.

The video, slightly more than one minute long, shows a man walk onto the screen, look around, then steal a bicycle. A sign on a column next to the bicycle that is taken announces that the area is under video surveillance.

The theft occurred near Carter Street on the east side of the station Friday, July 6, around 10 p.m.

The stolen bicycle is a 27-inch Giant Cypress model.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Detective Bureau at 203-254-4840.
