Fairfield Health Department offers free smoking cessation program

The Fairfield Health Department will offer a free four-week smoking cessation program every Tuesday in February, starting Feb. 2, from 6-7:30 p.m., at Fairfield Woods Library, 1147 Fairfield Woods Road.

The program, Freshstart, was developed by the American Cancer Society, and is designed to help you stop smoking in four weeks. Freshstart emphasizes that smoking cessation is a two-part process: stopping and staying stopped. Due to the fact that individuals differ as to which part is most difficult for them, Freshstart addresses both processes.

This program is free, but space is limited so call now to reserve your spot. Participants must be 18 years or older to join. For questions about the program or to reserve your spot, call Santina Galbo Jaronko, health educator, Fairfield Health Department at 203-256-3150 or email at [email protected].

Freshstart gives you effective tools to use while you stop yourself from smoking. You are the key to your own fresh start. Staying quit and enjoying it forever is possible with this program.
