4th District debate Oct. 28

Twelve Fairfield County chapters of the League of Women Voters will present a debate between Democrat Jim Himes and Republican Steve Obsitnik, candidates for the 4th Congressional District, on Sunday, Oct. 28, from 4 to 5:30 p.m. at the Clune Performing Arts Center at Wilton High School, 395 Danbury Road, Wilton.

The event is open to the public free of charge.

Co-sponsors are LWVs of the Bridgeport Area, Darien, Fairfield, Greenwich, New Canaan, Norwalk, Redding, Ridgefield, Stamford, Weston, Westport and Wilton, which is hosting the event.

The format will include questions collected in writing from the audience and others prepared by league members. All questions will be presented by moderator Kay Maxwell, a former president of the League of Women Voters of the United States and currently executive director of the Stamford-based World Affairs Forum.

Voter registration will be available at Wilton High School beginning at 3 p.m. prior to the debate.
