Wrestling: Warde defeats Ludlowe to remain unbeaten

In the cross town rival match No. 3 Fairfield Warde defeated Fairfield Ludlowe, 55-22, on Wednesday.

Coach Jason Shaughnessy’s Mustangs improved to 6-0 by winning 10 of the 14 bouts.

With Warde leading 24-22, the Mustangs took five of the last six matches to best the Falcons for the 11th straight time.

Shaughnessy pointed to victories by Noah Zuckerman (8-7 decision at 113) and Alex Steele (3-2 decision at 126) as being key.

Tim Kane (35-second pin at 132), Jack Price (36-second pin at 138), Charlie Kane 2:51 pin at 145), Matt Cuoco (1:05 pin at 182), John Ocano (20-second pin at 220), Alex Lobsenz (2:15 pin at heavyweight), Chris Murray (forfeit win at 103) and Brandon Moutinho (win by disqualification at 120) also posted wins for Warde.

Bobby Clark (5:59 pin at 152), Marcus Sherrod (17-6 major decision at 160), Chase Lind (1:49 pin at 171) and Lee Stenild-Johanson  (3:11 pin at 195) scored team points for the Falcons.
