Bigelow Center to host low vision seminar

Bigelow Center for Senior Activities,100 Mona Terrace, Fairfield will host a seminar on Low Vision Wednesday, Jan. 13, from 10-11:30 a.m. The seminar is free and open to the public.

Jonathan Gansfried, a rehabilitation teacher from the State of CT Bureau of Services for the Blind, will lead the seminar and cover not only the definition of low vision, but also explain the services available from the state.

Don Hoerman from New England Assistive Technology (known as NEAT) will bring some assistive devices to demonstrate, and talk about NEAT and its satellite located at Access Independence in Stratford.

Shayla Delgiudice, from Access Independence, will inform participants about the many free services available for people with disabilities.

Advance registration is required by calling 203-256-3166. The program is free of charge.

Fairfield residents are welcome to use the center’s door to door bus transportation by calling ahead to register at: 203-256-3168.
