On Wednesday, Jan. 6, shoppers at Whole Foods Market in Fairfield will help alleviate hunger and homelessness, one person at a time, because 5% of every purchase will be donated to support the mission of Operation Hope, according to the program’s organizers.

On four designated days over the course of the year, Whole Foods Market Fairfield holds community giving days, also known as “5% Days.” On these days, 5% of the store’s net sales are donated to a local nonprofit whose mission is aligned with Whole Foods Market’s commitment to health and community-related causes.

The 5% Day on Wednesday, Jan. 6, will benefit Operation Hope and its work to address basic needs for food and shelter, as well as offer long-term solutions to hunger and homelessness, including affordable housing, life skills training and personalized clinical support.

“5% Days at Whole Foods Market are an easy and effective way to support those who need it most in the Fairfield community, and we encourage our friends to use this chance to stock up,” said Carla Miklos, Executive Director, Operation Hope. “When you shop at Whole Foods on January 6th , you’ll support the important work that nonprofits like Operation Hope do to ensure everyone in our community has the opportunity to experience positive and lasting change for themselves and their families. We’re very grateful for Whole Foods Market’s support and encourage everyone to ‘shop and give back.’”
