HAN FCIAC winter sports previews: Staples Wreckers

Several Staples Wreckers came out to meet the HAN Cruiser after it pulled into the Westport high school on Wednesday, Dec. 9. It was the seventh of 17 stops on the HAN Network’s Winter FCIAC Tour to interview winter sports captains and coaches.

The tour started on Monday afternoon, Dec. 7, at Darien High School and is scheduled to conclude on Tuesday, Dec. 15, in Greenwich — the 17th school on the tour. You can check out the other interviews at this page or on our YouTube Channel.

There are nearly 30 games on HAN’s winter schedule that include eight sports: Boys and girls ice hockey, boys and girls basketball, wrestling, gymnastics, boys swimming and indoor track. You can check out the winter schedule at this link. (Note: It is subject to change the season progresses.)

You can follow the HAN Network broadcast team’s trip through the county on the HAN Network Twitter feed or by searching and using the hashtags, #FCIACtour and #HANcruiser.

The Wreckers’ co-op hockey team, Staples-Weston-Shelton, agains Amity will be carried live on HAN on Monday, Dec. 21. But some more games could be added during the season and HAN has exclusive broadcasting rights for all league postseason contests.
