FTC welcomes folk-rock group Delta Rae

Fairfield Theatre Company welcomes family folk-rock group Delta Rae to StageOne for their Winter Acoustic Tour on Wednesday, Dec. 9, at 7:45 p.m., 70 Sanford Street.

More than a decade after releasing a career-defining single, piano-pop singer Vanessa Carlton has grown into herself. After branching away from her “A Thousand Miles” days to marry Deer Tick frontman and start a family, Vanessa Carlton has expanded her musical scope. Her songs are still that easy listening soft timbre we all know and love but now it’s got a fresh twist. It’s more in-depth and mature, as the now 35-year old singer has grown with experience.

Delta Rae’s Americana style music is complimented by passionate soul and sprinkled with gospel-tinged country rock. The impassioned vocals of Brittany Hölljes and Elizabeth Hopkins will touch your heart as the overall authenticity of the group’s music gives audiences a real and raw emotional experience. The acoustic tour will provide a stripped-down version of Delta Rae’s greatest hits. The tour also features rare B-side songs that the band doesn’t often showcase on the road. This along with holiday favorites will give fans an eclectic and unforgettable show. Delta Rae has performed on “Late Night with Seth Meters,” “Tonight Show with Jay Leno,” and a finalist song on “So You Think You Can Dance.”
