Driver injured when SUV plows into scene of earlier accident in Fairfield

A state trooper’s in-car camera captured part of a series of collisions on I-95 in Fairfield early Friday that sent one driver to the hospital.

Firefighters responded to a crash with injuries on I-95 south just north of Exit 20 shortly after 1:35 a.m. Friday.

Firefighters stretched a hose to protect against the threat caused by gasoline leaking from the damaged SUV.

Dash cam footage shows a vehicle just miss a State Police cruiser and two people standing next to the guardrail, smash into one of the cars involved in the previous crash, and both the black vehicle and a blue SUV that was stopped careen across I-95 perpendicular to the lanes.

Rojas was arrested for several motor vehicle charges as well as the criminal charge of reckless endangerment. according to a Facebook post by Troop G. He was held in lieu of a $2,500 bond and was scheduled to appear in court Friday in Bridgeport.

Connecticut law requires all motorists approaching emergency vehicles on a highway to reduce their speed below posted speed limit and move over one lane if it is safe to do so.
