LinkedIn for Professionals and Job Seekers

In today’s world of social media, the conversation always goes to Facebook and Twitter — both valuable and important — but, you could be missing the most powerful tool if you are not active on LinkedIn. This may be your best professional network platform whether you are trying to grow your own business or looking for your next opportunity. Led by Carol McManus, known as America’s LinkedIn Lady, this program will take place on Thursday, Nov. 19, at 7 p.m.,  in the Rotary Room at the Main Library, 1080 Old Post Road.

Carol McManus is the owner of YWait4Success, a coaching, consulting, and leadership training company.

Other Jobs series programs this fall include: “Critiquing LinkedIn Profiles”, November 23; “Marketing Yourself: Branding”, December 3 and “Advanced Resume Techniques”, December 14.

These presentations are part of the Library’s award-winning Jobs series, now in its sixth year. The talks are supplemented by a LinkedIn networking group, one-on-one career counseling sessions, Job Search Boot Camp, podcast recordings of over 100 past presentations (, and an updated collection of job-hunting books. Since January of 2012, 150 people who have attended Jobs series programs have reported they have found employment.
