HS football update

Fairfield Ludlowe snapped a 14-game winless streak when coach Matt McCloskey’s Falcons shut out Harding of Bridgeport, 35-0, at Hedges Stadium on Oct. 6.
Matt White threw a four-yard touchdown pass to Stephan Zadravac and Victor D’Ascenzo added the first of his four conversion kicks to give Ludlowe a 7-0 lead in the first quarter.
Steven Scholtz ran for touchdowns of 11 and six yards to stake Ludlowe to a 21-0 lead at the half.
White snuck in from one-yard out in the third period and Christian Ghiorzi ran for a 17-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter.
Dan Silvestri returned a kickoff for 89 yards for a touchdown to open the second half for Fairfield Ludlowe in its FCIAC football game with Greenwich High at Taft Field on Friday night.
That score cut into sixth-ranked Greenwich’s 20-0 lead, but the Cardinals added two more scores for a 40-7 lead en route to its fourth straight victory.
Matt White ran for a 19-yard touchdown and Victor D’Ascenzo added his second conversion kick in the final period for the Falcons (1-4) in the 40-14 loss.
Warde football
Fairfield Warde’s Max Garrett threw a 34-yard touchdown pass to Mark Byrne in the second quarter, but Ridgefield High extended its 18-7 halftime lead to post a 28-7 victory in FCIAC football action at Tetreau-Davis Field on Saturday.
Cristian Ocana booted the conversion kick for the Mustangs (1-4) against the Tigers (4-1).
Notre Dame football
Notre Dame lost to Oxford High, 55-20, in a South-West Conference football game at McCarty Field on Saturday.
Tarik Bagley gave the Lancers the lead with a 74-yard touchdown run in the first quarter.
Oxford (3-1) scored the next five touchdowns to go in front 35-6, before Glody Tumba threw an 18-yard touchdown pass to Jalani Roman to make it 35-12 at the half.
After a scoreless third period, Oxford extended its lead to 55-12.
Notre Dame’s Antae Janvier found Roman for a nine-yard scoring pass and hit Jordan Pettway for the two-point conversion to complete the scoring.
