Home for the Holidays, Rooms with a View opens Nov. 13

Rooms with a View, the area’s most prestigious weekend design event founded by legendary designer Albert Hadley 21 years ago, will feature 12 small, vignettes of interior design by leading designers Friday, Nov. 13-Sunday, Nov. 15, at the Southport Congregational Church on Pequot Avenue, Southport. Additionally there will be special events and “The Shops at Rooms with a View” with more than 30 specialty vendors from around the country offering unique and specialty designer items.

The Friday night Opening Night Gala, sponsored by SERENDIPITY Magazine, with gourmet fare, live and silent auctions, raw bar, and specialty cocktails, will feature “Chefs with a Mission,” founded by culinary visionaries who support outreach in the community. Over the last 20 years, Rooms with a View has raised more than $1,400,00 for missions and ministry of Southport Congregational Church, and this new concept will carry on this tradition in a new and exciting way. Gala tickets begin at $125 and can be purchased on the church website at www.southportucc.org

SERENDIPITY Magazine will also sponsor the “Visions of Sugarplums” Holiday Fashion Show and Tea, presented by The Royal Tea Company, with fashions by area boutiques and the church-run Carousel Thrift Shop at 1:00 Saturday, November 14th. Seating is limited, and the ticket price of $50 includes show admission of $20.

On Saturday night, we host the Champagne Tour led by Honorary Chair Thom Filicia as he takes the guests on a tour of the vignettes and adds his view on each. This is followed by a five-course meal by Paci Restaurant and Bob Patchen. This event begins at 6 p.m., and limited tickets are available for $500 per person.

Tent events include a Gingerbread House Decorating Event for all ages on Sunday, Nov. 15, at 2. Advance tickets at $40 per house include show admission for one adult and one child and all the decorations for designing your own award-winning gingerbread house.

General show admission is $20 in advance, and $25 at the door. All activities will be at the Southport Congregational Church, 524 Pequot Avenue, Southport Village. Hours are from 10-5, Friday and Saturday, and noon-5 on Sunday.
