McKinley Trunk or Treat showcases Halloween displays

Sponsored by the McKinley School Parent and Teacher Association (PTA), the fourth annual McKinley Trunk or Treat event was held on Saturday, October 24, at Fairfield Warde High School, one day after a lockdown that wasn’t a drill.

SpiderCar“It was great that we were able to continue with our event one day after the schools were in lockdown for several hours”, Janine Jaeger, Co-chair said during the event. Jill Kellerman, Co-chair added, “McKinley’s Trunk or Treat is a fun event that was needed for the kids and parents after a day like yesterday.”

ZuckermansFamousPigAbout 30 vehicles showcasing the talent of many parents displayed their decorated trunks in the Fairfield Warde parking lot. Some of the memorable trunks were a French Patisserie, a Candy Store, Dark Maze, Fishing Boat, and some unique interactive trunks where the children rolled a pumpkin to knock down a stack of toilet paper. Speaking of toilet paper, one display was a full on Mischief Night.

BooTruckorTreatAll the proceeds go towards funding cultural events, field trips and school activities for McKinley School students.

The McKinley School PTA is very dynamic involved group of volunteers who are dedicated to enhancing student education, advocating for children, and serving the McKinley Community. As a non-profit organization, it works in accordance with the Connecticut PTA and the National PTA, the largest volunteer child advocacy association in the United States. Awarded the School of Excellence Seal by the National PTA in 2004 and 2008, the McKinley School PTA embodies the school’s motto, ‘We Are Family”.
