Southport Galleries’ exhibition features Fairfield photographer

Art enthusiasts everywhere are invited to a special artist’s reception and exhibition at Southport Galleries for Fairfield-based photographer Kate Eisemann, in honor of her being recently named the Grand Prize Winner in the Fairfield Museum’s 2015 IMAGES Photography Show.

The reception will be held on Friday, Oct. 23, from 5-8 p.m., at Southport Galleries, 330 Pequot Avenue, Southport. An exhibition of her work titled ‘Cat Bellies & Portraits’ will be on display at the gallery through Nov. 1.

“I am privileged to have been part of the Fairfield Museum’s IMAGES show,” said Eisemann. “To have had my work chosen as outstanding amongst so many talented artists is an honor,” she said.

Her winning image, ‘catscan’, as well as several of her masterful portraits of world leaders and Olympians will be on view at the exhibition.

Sissy Biggers of Southport Galleries is looking forward to welcoming Eisemann to the gallery. “We are delighted to continue our creative collaboration with the Fairfield Museum by bringing artists’ work, like Kate’s, to the forefront,” she said.

Eisemann began her career as a photo-journalist, working for several print publications as well as the CBS affiliate television station in Hartford, Connecticut. From there, she moved to New York and began producing and assistant directing television commercials and feature films. She returned to Connecticut to expand her commercial portraiture and event photography portfolio, as well as founding The Locations, a full-service location scouting agency representing some of Connecticut’s most unique and storied properties for use in national marketing campaigns, television and film.
