Halloween Extravaganza at the Fairfield Public Library

This year marks the 150th anniversary of the publication of Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. Follow us down the rabbit hole as we celebrate Halloween Wonderland-style at the Library’s fourth annual Halloween celebration! Dress up and join in on some early Halloween fun on Friday, October 30 at the Main Library, 1080 Old Post Road. There will be candy, of course! The Halloween festivities are drop-in events, no registration is required.

Not-So-Scary Halloween Story Time for Ages 0-5

Dance and wiggle like Tweedledee and Tweedledum to Halloween rhymes and stories, then watch as your favorite librarians visit the Mad Hatter before following the White Rabbit on a Trick-or-Treat Costume parade around Wonderland! Costumes are encouraged…for both children and adults! For children, ages 0-5 years old, and their parent or caregiver. This special story time will meet in the Rotary Room at the Main Library on Friday, October 30 at 2 p.m.

Mad Hatter’s Tea & Halloween Party for Grades K-5

Events get curiouser and curiouser. You must be mad or you wouldn’t have come here! (But don’t worry, all the best people are.) Join the wonder and nonsense of flamingo croquet, the Mad-Hatter’s un-birthday, the Red Queen’s Costume Contest and other activities and games. The madness begins in the Children’s Room at the Main Library on Friday, October 30 from 4-5:30.

Trick or Treat on Safety Street will be going on in downtown Fairfield the same afternoon, so come to our story time first and then trick or treat around town, or for school age kids, trick or treat first and then come to the party. What a fun and fabulous afternoon!
