LETTER: Vote Tetreau/Marmion on Nov. 3

FI-Letter-to-the-EditorTo the Editor:

As a 12-year resident of Fairfield I have seen both good and bad come out of the First Selectman’s office. For the last four years, under Mike Tetreau’s leadership I have been nothing but impressed with and thankful for his service. In his time as First Selectman, we have been dealt several crushing blows one after the other including two devastating hurricanes. We have had to manage school safety concerns as well as challenging capitol projects. He has come through all of these challenges with flying colors.

Mike isn’t afraid to make the hard decisions if they are the best ones for our town. He has played an integral role in reviving Fairfield and making it a top community to live in, raise a family, and forempty nesters. He takes every business and resident to heart, regardless of political party, and he will continue to fight for everyone, keeping Fairfield great and striving to make it even better. I am nothing short of impressed by this man’s ability to lead, especially in challenging times.

His opponents on the Republican team have no leadership qualities, having served one short term on the RTM, neither in a leadership role. This does not create leaders.

Fairfield is in a very strong position now, and we can’t afford inexperience in the First Selectman’s office. We also can’t afford dishonesty and lack of wisdom and leadership, all things clearly in question across the board with the Republican team. I urge you to look into their voting records on many of the issues they are standing behind, specifically Penfield Pavilion, as well as everything Chris Tymniak is saying about what Mike hasn’t done regarding GE. The Tymniak commentary is disingenuous at best.

A VOTE FOR MICHAEL TETREAU AND SHEILA MARMION is a vote in your best interest. Mike and Sheila’sleadership, wisdom, and honesty protect you and our town. Votes for Democrats on the RTM also are in the best interest of the town. The Republican majority has needlessly politicized this body of the people. There will be no game playing with a Democratic majority on the RTM. We need the best leading our town at every level, the most intelligent, the most experienced, and the most dedicated to all residents and businesses of Fairfield.

This especially holds true for the Board of Education. There is a group, including Patricia Donovan and Laura Bernaschina, who want to undo our stellar education system and they need to be stopped for the good of us all. I urge you to look into their agenda before casting your vote. To keep our education system strong, Vote For: DWYER, KENNELLY, GERBER, CALABRESE AND PYTKO.

You are either part of a solution or part of a problem; Chris Tymniak and Laurie McArdle are not part of any solution.

Let’s keep Fairfield great. Vote Tetreau/Marmion on Nov 3rd.

Greg Alprin
