FTC’s free outdoor festival features Mountainfilm on Tour

The Fairfield Theatre Company, in partnership with Outdoor Sports Center are pleased to welcome back Mountainfilm on Tour on Sunday, October 25. But this year Mountainfilm on Tour in Fairfield is going bigger and better with a free FTC Outdoor Festival, full of activities including live music, vendors, free film screenings, film makers, food trucks, beer and giveaways. The festival will take place from 2-6 p.m., and will be followed by the feature presentation, Mountainfilm on Tour, which will be screened in FTC’s – new state of the art venue, The Warehouse, beginning at 6:30 p.m.

For more than 30 years, the Telluride Film Festival has attracted filmmakers, photographers, conservationists, mountaineers and explorers from around the world who support their communal motto: “Celebrating Indomitable Spirit.” Each year, following the festival, the organization select a plethora of films to screen around the country, and hits the road reaching new audiences who don’t have the opportunity to experience the festival in person. Audiences are taken on extreme visceral exploration from the highest mountain to the deepest cave, cultures, environment, and of course adventure. Through the years, in and out of trends and fads, the festival has always been best described by one unchanging word: inspiring.

As previously mentioned, this year’s Mountainfilm event will be bigger and better as the Fairfield Theatre Company adds the addition of the FTC Adventure Sports Festival, a free family event featuring action film shorts, giveaways from many local businesses and music from local artists Joe Valero and Amber Anchor featuring Dan Tressler and Jeff Smith. The Fairfield Theatre Company would like to thank Outdoor Sports Center, for their continued support in bringing adventure film to the community and to those local businesses and organizations for participating in this event.

“Hosting Mountainfilm on Tour is hands down one of my favorite days of the year! Mountainfilm isn’t just about film – it’s about bringing together an amazing community and sharing stories that inspire us in unexpected and powerful ways.” says FTC board member and local tour host Cindy Johnston.

“We are very excited to have Mountainfilm on Tour back at FTC and in our new, larger Warehouse venue”, says FTC Director of Development Joe Rog. “It’s always a special evening and, with the FTC Adventure Sports Festival, the whole community can come and enjoy the Mountainfilm experience throughout the day.”

Fans new and old are also in for a treat as Natalie Jones, the standup comic turned radio D.J. for Tellurides’ KOTO FM will be on hand to emcee the event throughout the day.

So grab your friends, family, as well as your Meetup.com buddies and come down to The Fairfield Theatre Company for a day of fun, film and adventure as a FTC presents yet another incredible year of Mountainfilm on Tour that will keep all those in attendance on the edge of their seats.
