The Patterson Club and Fairfield Beach Club to Paddle Against Hunger

The Patterson Club announces Fairfield Beach Club will participate, for the first time, alongside them at their Paddle Against Hunger annual charity marathon. The twenty-four-hour paddle tennis event to raise funds for Bridgeport Rescue Mission will begin at 6 p.m. on Friday, October 16, and conclude at the same time the next day.

Since its inception four years ago, the event has raised more than $140,000, and this year the Fairfield Beach Club hopes to contribute substantially to support the Mission’s services and programs for the poor and homeless in coastal Fairfield County.

Proceeds from the marathon come at a vital time for the Mission as they prepare to provide food and coats for thousands of homeless and impoverished men, women and children through their holiday programs.

“We’re gearing up to provide 3,000 families in need with Thanksgiving meals and coats while continuing to provide daily meals and services through our residential recovery and outreach ministries,” said Executive Director Terry Wilcox. “Community events like this help provide the critical resources we need to offer life-saving services to our struggling neighbors. We are grateful for their support.”

Bridgeport Rescue Mission demonstrates the love of God to hungry, homeless and addicted people throughout coastal Fairfield County, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. We fight poverty from the inside out by providing a place of hope and dignity through an addiction recovery program with educational classes, biblical counseling and case management. We are funded by compassionate individuals, churches, businesses and organizations.
