Kupchick: October is Adopt-A-Dog Month

October is Adopt-A-Dog Month.

State Representative Brenda Kupchick (R-132) along with Police Chief Gary MacNamara and the Fairfield Animal Shelter are encouraging residents to join them for an adopt-a-dog or cat day and or donate to the animal shelter to help new pet owners.

Visit the Fairfield Animal Shelter Saturday, Oct. 24, from noon to 3 p.m., 211 Richard White Way in Fairfield.

Rep. Kupchick said, “Our local Fairfield animal shelter is the perfect place to find great dogs of every type, size, age and personality — all waiting for a loving home.”

American Humane Association established Adopt-A-Dog Month in October 1981 as an annual event to encourage people to save lives and enhance their own lives by adopting a dog from a shelter or rescue group.
