Jeff Bevino named ND’s softball coach

Notre Dame of Fairfield has announced that Jeff Bevino has been named the new head softball coach.

Bevino was the head coach at Foran High School the past eight years, which included Class L state finalist appearances in 2012 and 2013, two SCC championships in 2011 and 2012 and a Class L state championship in 2011.

Father Bill Sangiovanni, President of Notre Dame, said, “I am thrilled to have Jeff back at Notre Dame.  He was a great asset as a football coach several years ago and I know he will be the same as the head softball coach. His record speaks for itself.”

Chris Cipriano, Principal added, “We are very pleased to welcome Jeff back to the coaching staff at Notre Dame. His success with softball in the area is well established, and we look forward to him working with our team as they continue to build on the recent success they have realized.”

Athletic Director Rob Bleggi stated, “Jeff has always been a part of the ND family. I am very excited to have him coaching at ND as our head softball coach. His experience, dedication, and commitment are second to none. I believe that Jeff can elevate our softball program to the next level.”

Bevino said, “I am very grateful for the opportunity to coach at Notre Dame and am very excited to return to the ND family. I have always loved it here. I was given a chance by Fr. Bill and the school administration to build a winning tradition. I want to give back for all the great things that have happened to me since then.”
