LETTER: Shelia Marmion — A voice for Fairfield

To the Editor

Sheila Marmion — experienced, balanced and collaborative — for Selectman

I served with Sheila Marmion while she was Deputy Minority Leader on the RTM and very quickly gained enormous respect for her intellect, work ethic, steadiness, and ability to collaborate. Sheila listens — she may not initially (or even ultimately) agree with me, but she will listen and consider my views.

Sheila is a voice for Fairfield — she has addressed the RTM on many issues, on many occasions. Her questions and statements are carefully considered, her research done in advance whenever possible. She is respectful to everyone, and because of this others treat her with respect. On the RTM she has guided us in a collaborative, balanced direction for the good of the Town. As one of the more experienced and knowledgeable members of Fairfield’s RTM, Sheila was an important contributor on the Senior and Disabled Tax Relief Committee that overhauled this program for the benefit of those in need.

Sheila graduated from Trinity College and later went to Sacred Heart to get her Masters in Occupational Therapy. I was happy when Sheila was selected to replace Cristin McCarthy Vehay as Selectman (when Cristin won her election for State Representative) and strongly believe Sheila is the right person to continue as Selectman.
