Inaugural Biker – Barre + Bubbly Raises more than $18,000

The Inaugural Biker-Barre + Bubbly fund-raising event held on Sept. 13 to raise awareness for Hydrocephalus, an incurable brain condition, announced that the event raised more than $18,000 to help support the Pediatric Hydrocephalus Foundation (PHF). The monies raised from the event will go to the organization which works to raise awareness and fund research in search of a cure for the brain condition.

The unique fundraiser, which brought together dozens of spinning and barre enthusiasts, was sponsored by Zen Ride Spinning Studio of Fairfield, and Bar Method of Fairfield. An additional 30+ friends and supporters joined for the silent auction and after party.

Participants sweated, sculpted and stretched, and then enjoyed bubbly and bites while bidding on silent auction items.

Biker – Barre + Bubbly was the brainchild of Cindy and Tim Shanley of Fairfield whose three-year-old daughter Reagan has hydrocephalus. Cindy, a spin instructor at ZenRide, organized the fundraiser and helped design the ‘biker – barre’ program with Bridget McBride, co-owner of the Bar Method of Fairfield.

“The success of the event was the result of a caring and compassionate community who came together to help the Pediatric Hydrocephalus Foundation continue their meaningful work of supporting families like mine who are touched by Hydrocephalus,” said Cindy Shanley. “We’re incredibly grateful to Jessica Gray, owner of Zen Ride, and to Bar Method of Fairfield, along with the scores of local businesses who helped to make the fundraiser very memorable and successful.”

Other Sponsors of the Biker – Barre + Bubbly included Barcelona; Rao’s; Victoria Fine Foods; Henry C. Reid & Son Jewelers; Gray Goose Cafe, The Bee Hive; Bartaco; The Accessory Store; Local Kitchen and Beer Bar; Harry’s Wine & Liquor; ; Brick + Wood; Pink Cupcake Shack; Pine Creek Delicatessen; Cabbage Patch Kids; Blow Dry Southport; Wagmore; Casper Co.; Coffee Bean Direct; Fairfield Cheese Company; Coco Nail Spa and Beauty With Kim.
