Award winning journalist and author Andrée Brooks to speak at CHJ today

Award-winning author and journalist, Andrée Brooks will be returning to the Congregation for Humanistic Judaism (CHJ) this Rosh Hashanah. On Monday, Sept. 14, at 2 p.m.,Brooks will speak at The Unitarian Church, 10 Lyons Plains Road, Westport. Andrée is an engaging speaker who specializes in lesser-known aspects of Jewish history. This year her topic will be FOOD IN THE HISTORY OF THE JEWS, and she will lead us in a culinary exploration of Jewish cuisine that developed in specific places and at specific times.

A contributor to many newspapers and magazines, Andrée was a New York Times columnist and news writer for 18 years with over 1,000 articles appearing in that publication. She is an Assistant Fellow at Yale University and founder of the Women’s Campaign School at Yale, which focuses on providing women worldwide with skills needed to win elective office.

All services and programs are free and open to the public, and free childcare is provided during daytime programming. Casual dress is recommended for daytime programming
