Discussion on Harper Lee’s new book Go Set a Watchman

Join the Fairfield Public Library for a spirited discussion over the many facets of Harper Lee’s new book Go Set a Watchman. Fairfield University faculty, Dr. Sally O’Driscoll and Professor Sonya Huber will lead the debate on Monday, Sept. 21, at 7 p.m., in the Rotary Room at the Main Library, 1080 Old Post Road.

Topics that will discussed are whether the book is a draft of Mockingbird, if the hype was created by the publisher deliberately, if the new book discredits the classic, if Harper Lee was coerced into publishing the Watchman manuscript and much more. Bring your questions.

Sonya Huber is Associate Professor and Director of the MFA program at Fairfield University where she teaches creative nonfiction, publishing, editing and composition. Dr. Sally O’Driscoll is Professor of English at Fairfield University where she teaches 18th Century Literature, Graphic Novels, and Gender & Sexuality in Film and Literature.

There will books for sale from Fairfield University Bookstore. Advanced registration is required due to the limited space. All programs at the Fairfield Public Library are free of charge.
