28th annual Bigelow Tea Community Challenge slated

The 28th annual Bigelow Tea Community Challenge will be held Sunday, Sept. 27, 8 a.m. registration at Wakeman Boys & Girls Club, Southport.

The event includes a 5K race and non-competitive two mile fitness walk at 10 a.m., and a non-competitive 100-yard scamper, 1/2 mile Kids’ Fun Run at 9 a.m.

Runners, walkers and families from all across Fairfield County are welcome to participate, rain or shine.

Last year $130,000 was donated to 18 local charities.

Open to the public, events start at 9. More than 1,000 participants of all ages are expected to attend the event.

Registration includes Chip-timed races, free T-shirt, gift bag, food, music, face-painting and more.  staff-supervised babysitting available.

This year, be among the first to sample Bigelow Tea’s new organic tea at the Bigelow Mobile Tea Bar and take pictures with Biggie.
