Giuseppe Mavuli, 14 years old, was last seen around 4:45 p.m. Thursday in the area of Fairfield University on North Benson Road in Fairfield.

Giuseppe is around 5 feet 4 inches tall with dark hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing black shorts, a red T-shirt with the number 10 on the back, and neon green cleats, according to a Facebook post by Fairfield Police.

Fairfield police said he is believed to either be in the Fairfield area or to have traveled to his hometown of Milford.

Fairfield police ask anyone who sees Giuseppe to immediately call 203-254-4800 or 911.

Now issued for missing youths, The Silver Alert system does for missing persons with dementia and other cognitive impairments what the Amber Alert system does for missing children – it helps speed up the process of finding them, according to the state’s website, ct.gov. Specifically, the Silver Alert system applies to any missing person age 18 years or older who has a mental impairment or is 65 years of age or older. Once the police receive a missing person’s report and a description of the missing person, the information is broadcast via radio, television, and electronic highway signs through the Emergency Alert System.
