Junior Women’s Club of Fairfield presents 7th annual Touch-A-Truck

Grab your hard hats! Touch-A-Truck is rolling back into town. Kids of all ages can get up close and personal with some fascinating vehicles — pulling the siren on a fire truck, sitting behind the wheel of a garbage truck, getting safety tips from an emergency response vehicle, and more!

Presented by the Junior Women’s Club of Fairfield, the 7th annual Touch-A-Truck will be held Sunday, Sept. 20, from noon-4 p.m. in the parking lot of Fairfield Ludlowe High School, 785 Unquowa Road. Rain date is Sunday, Sept. 27.

Sharing the blacktop with the vehicles will be great entertainment including bounce houses, character meet-and-greets, face painting & tattoos. Guests will also have the chance to meet Fairfield’s own 2015 Little League 10U State Champions! For an additional fee, Touch-A-Truck visitors may take a scenic tour of the grounds on The Roaming Railroad. And all the while, families can cruise the grounds to the beat of great tunes provided by DJ Bam Bam.

While enjoying the sights and entertainment, guests can fuel up at popular visiting food trucks from Taco Laco and others as well as enjoy popcorn, cotton candy and other treats at the JWC’s concession stands.

Touch-A-Truck would not be possible without its events and media sponsors who include Steve DeMasco’s Shaolin Studios of Fairfield, Residential Mortgage Services, Inc., Nannies as Needed, The Edge Fitness Club of Fairfield, Pediatric Healthcare Associates, WEBE 108, SuzySaid, and more. Also vital to the event’s success are the Fairfield fire, police, and public works departments, Student Athletes Serving Others (SASO) and the local companies donating their time, manpower, and vehicles for the afternoon.

Tickets for Touch-A-Truck are $5 per person for visitors ages 2 and up. Proceeds benefit the club’s scholarships fund for high school students.

Open to women in Fairfield and surrounding towns, the JWC is a non-profit service organization that gives members the chance to make new friends while giving back to the greater community through social and personal enrichment programs, fundraisers, and local events.
