Calling all high school students and history lovers

Calling all high school students!

Do you love history? Curious to learn more? Ready to jump in and follow your passion?

Come to the first meeting of the Wilton Historical Society’s Student Historian Program Thursday, Sept. 24, from 3:30-4:30 p.m.

Area high school students who answered yes to the question “Do you love history?” are encouraged to gather at the Wilton Historical Society’s organizational meeting of the Student Historian Program. Students in grades 10-12 who are curious about history are urged to follow their passion and get some real experience. Pizza included.

Led by museum educator Allison Reznik, students will initiate and carry through with original research and hands-on projects. The Student Historian Program encourages participants to develop projects for class; research and create tours; search for information about historic events and objects; and contribute to the Society’s online and social media accounts. Student historians also help the Society as volunteers at activities and events, such as the American Artisan Show, the Great Trains Exhibit, and Barn Raising Day (a family history day). The group will meet monthly.
