Green ribbon cutting today at Bigelow Tea

Daphne Dixon, president & co-founder of Live Green Connecticut! and Fairfield First Selectman Michael Tetreau will be at Bigelow headquarters, 201 Black Rock Turnpike, Fairfield on Wednesday, July 15, at 3 p.m. for a Green Ribbon Cutting, and to present Cindi Bigelow and the Bigelow Tea Green Team with the highly coveted Fairfield Green Business Designation Platinum Level Award.

This highest-level award recognizes Bigelow Tea for having completed 26 sustainable practices that include everything from educating employees on best greening practices, to water and energy reduction, and transportation initiatives.   Bigelow’s greening efforts exceeded the minimum number of requirements of 20 by six.

This award is an honor but no surprise when you consider that Bigelow Tea’s mission is always to enrich life’s everyday moments by infusing passion into all we do.

“We aim to be good community partners.  And I am pleased to tell you that I am not alone in this vision,” says Cindi Bigelow.  “These accomplishments are driven by total employee teamwork.  By developing a program revolving around our core values: Greening, Wellness and Community, and establishing teams throughout the organization, we are continually finding ways to improve on best practices and conserve our valuable resources.”
