Mary G. Tucker

Mary G. Tucker, of Southport, the widow of the late Donald Tucker, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 14, 2012.

Born in 1924 to the late Nicholas and Lillian Gayda of Southport, she was a U.S. Navy veteran as was her husband.

She was a lifelong Southport resident.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was predeceased by her only sibling, Kosti Gayda who perished in the March of Bataan during World War II. Mrs. Tucker had no children and is survived by numerous cousins, many of who live in the area.

A Mass of Christian Burial services will be held on Tuesday, June 19, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. directly at St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Fairfield. Interment will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery with Full Military Honors. There are no calling hours. Shaughnessey Banks Funeral Home, 50 Reef Road in Fairfield Center is in charge of the arrangements.
