Thursday Afternoon Fun — Summer Programs for Teens

Make Thursday your “let’s do something different day” this summer and  come by the Fairfield Public Library. Thursday, June 25 through Thursday, July 30, creative programs for teens will be offered. Alternating between the Main and the Fairfield Woods Branch Libraries, all programs meet in the afternoon from 2:30-4 p.m. and are open to teens entering grades 6 and up. Registration is required.

Programs at the Main Library, 1080 Old Post Road, include:

Super Hero Jeopardy — June 25: Test your trivia skills and win prizes

Conquer the Drop — July 2: Use everyday items to design a contraption that will protect precious cargo from impact

It’s a Bird, It’s a Plane! — July 16: Learn about aerodynamics while attempting to build the world’s best paper airplane

Programs at the Fairfield Woods Branch Library, 1147 Fairfield Woods Road, include:

Shrink Jewelry — July 9: Design your own super hero symbol, and then wear it!

Super Pillows — July 23: Stitch together an awesome accessory for your room

Kitchen Heroes — July 30: Discover tips and tricks to make yummy snacks . . . and eat them up.

Don’t forget to sign up for the 2015 Teen Summer Challenge, Unmasked!, online. In addition to earning points for reading, you earn points every time you participate in a Library program.
