Carol Nipomnich Dixon is an Old Greenwich fiber artist and painter. She taught art at the Stamford Museum, Greenwich Academy, and continues to teach art at Stamford Adult Education and Greenwich Art Society. Carol says, “…. I create art because I love to do it… The work I create attempts to capture my reaction to the world around me. My inspiration comes from my own experiences and emotions, nature, places visited, varied cultures, historical eras, and art over the ages .. My most characteristic pieces are my textured, colorful mixed media embroidered collages, and my influences go back to my Russian paternal grandparents — my grandmother who taught me to embroider and my grandfather who gave me fabric remnants from his tailor shop.”

She organized exhibits in the Metropolitan Museum of Art, The Brooklyn Museum and at Long Island University. She is listed Who’s Who in American Art and Who’s Who in the East.

Pershan says, “To create a demanding composition expressing the mood and feel of a work of art, I depart from reality and allow my emotions to speak for me…Whether the subject is a seascape, landscape, still life, or portrait captured from the beauties of life and nature. the vitality, spontaneity, bold, free technical style accomplishes the result I seek…”

Ken Scaglia, Arc of a Driver

Ken Scaglia, Arc of a Driver

Weston resident, Ken Scaglia, is an adjunct professor of design at Norwalk Community College and Western Connecticut State University. He teaches a variety of design courses including Typography, Color, Foundation Design, senior-level projects, and Graphic Design History.

Scaglia has an Associate degree in Industrial Illustration, a BA in Visual Communication Design and an MFA in Graphic Design. His acrylic paintings have been shown throughout Fairfield County and nationally. He is represented by CODA Gallery in Palm Desert, CA.

Scaglia says, “I like to convey my fascination of classic car style through my close observations. My severe cropping brings the viewer more directly into the experience of the architecture of each car. The viewer is asked to join me in my own fascination and focus of the details I find the most interesting and that tell the best story… I edit the original photo very minimally in order to preserve the moment.”
