Leonard Nimoy’s adaption of Vincent makes FTC debut

The Fairfield Theatre Company welcomes the one-man adaption by the late Leonard Nimoy, Vincent to StageOne presented by Starry Night Theatre Company Friday and Saturday, May 22 and 23, at 8 p.m., and Sunday, May 24, at 2 p.m.

Author Leonard Nimoy, who passed away earlier this year, had dramatized the passionate and turbulent life of the legendary painter Vincent van Gogh in an intimate one-man play adapted from over hundreds of letters between Van Gogh and his closest supporter, his brother Theo.

Continuing where Nimoy left off in telling the story of one of the most recognizable artists in history, James Briggs will carry the torch of presenting this incredible production that includes over 100 stunning projections of Vincent’s artwork and tells the story of his life, much more than the common myths of a misunderstood genius who cut off his own ear.

In this adaption, Theo, movingly reveals Vincent as very few really knew him and defends Vincent’s after his death to a gathering of friends and colleagues (an actual historic event). Theo, however is not interested in telling the small story of the late artist demise but rather the bigger meaning and significance of his late brother’s life to all humankind as a symbol of inspiration, courage, passion, and the lust for life that art kindles in all of us.

Join the Fairfield Theatre Company as they go back to their roots and welcome this phenomenal production about one of the greatest artists to ever exist through the eyes of one of his biggest fans, his brother.

For tickets, at $35 in advance with a $3 member discount, visit fairfieldtheatre.org or call 203-259-1036.
