Raise Your Glass, Raise Awareness fund-raising gala

The Center for Sexual Assault Crisis Counseling and Education (The Center) will host the 10th annual Raise Your Glass, Raise Awareness fundraising gala on Thursday, May 28, from 7-10 p.m., at Stepping Stones Museum for Children (Mathews Park, 303 West Avenue, Norwalk). Funds raised will support critical crisis counseling and prevention programs throughout Lower Fairfield County.

Who says the circus is just for kids? Come one, come all…as The Center’s circus-themed gala is guaranteed to dazzle and amaze. Alan Kalter of “Late Night with David Letterman” fame will serve as Master of Ceremonies, and this year’s event honorees are Senator Richard Blumenthal and Mark Shenkman, founder, president and CIO, Shenkman Capital Management, Inc.

Guests can participate in a live and silent auction, take a chance at carnival games (including a wine bottle ring toss), enjoy cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, a dessert table and — of course — indulge in cotton candy and popcorn. Performers from Circophony will provide spectacular side-show acts that include juggling, stilt walking, clowns, acrobats, and more.

The online portion of the Raise Your Glass auction will run from May 18-May 28, with the live event taking place on May 28. The auction includes exotic vacation getaways, one-of-a-kind experiences, and a wide variety of items that are sure to delight and surprise.

Event sponsors include: GE Asset Management, Connecticut Film Center, The Diliberto Family, Kim Hekking & Fran Fitzpatrick, The Kekedjian Family, Nicole Steel Real Estate, Norwalk Community College, First County Bank, Sweet Lisa’s Exquisite Cakes, Rí Rá, and All About Presentation.

Net proceeds will benefit The Center for Sexual Assault Crisis Counseling & Education, a nonprofit organization that provides crisis counseling and support services to victims of sexual assault and works to eliminate sexual violence through community-wide education programs. Over the last year alone, The Center served nearly 14,000 people in the towns of Darien, Greenwich, New Canaan, Norwalk, Stamford, Weston, Westport, and Wilton.

Tickets are available now at $125 per person. Supporter of The Center Tickets are $1,000 (includes four tickets plus special recognition) and $500 (includes two tickets plus special recognition).
