Social campaign helps fund a cure for food allergies

End Allergies Together launches #Just10BucksToEat social campaign to fund a cure for food allergies. The non-profit is committed to finding a cure for food allergies by directly funding the researchers who strive to find solutions for this growing epidemic.

EATjust10buckstoeatFULLLaunched in early 2015, End Allergies Together, Inc. (E.A.T) is the only organization solely focused on funding food allergy research. Unlike other organizations focused on advocacy, education, awareness, support and product development, the single goal of E.A.T is to accelerate research for a cure.

With 100% of net proceeds going directly to research, E.A.T was founded on the premise that anyone’s contribution, big or small is crucial.

The founders of E.A.T., Kim Hall and Elise Bates, are two mothers of children with life-threatening food allergies. At a local food allergy meeting, they bonded over the everyday fears and struggles with their kids’ food allergies and agreed that they needed to help find a cure. Over a year later, E.A.T, an independent non- profit organization was born with a laser focus on raising money to support short-term treatments and longer- term solutions for the food allergy epidemic.

“Eating is a part of every day life and a way of life! But with a person visiting the ER with an allergic reaction every 3 minutes, people who suffer from food allergies can’t just EAT.” said, founders Kim Hall and Elise Bates.

Severe food allergies are growing at a staggering rate with now 1 in 12 children diagnosed and 17 million Americans suffering. Annual food allergy research costs are an estimated $500 million, and with private and public funding in 2013 there was still an over $420 million research gap.

If the 30 million people touched by food allergies gave just 10 dollars, the $300 million raised could go a long way towards closing this gap.

About The E.A.T Team

E.A.T has a multi-perspective approach that brings the medical, scientific, business and legal communities together against the fight for food allergy cure. Funding will be allocated with the help of a medical advisory board of scientists and clinicians, who are leaders in the field but are not seeking research funding for their own studies, so E.A.T’s goal remains objective.
