SCORE Fairfield County will present a FREE SCORE Small Business Workshop, “The Basics of Exporting: In-house training for taking your small business global” on Saturday, May 9, from 9:30-11:30 a.m., at the  Fairfield County SCORE Office 111 East Avenue, Suite 317, Norwalk.

Reserve a space now for an export services training program that will explore the basics of exporting possibilities for your small business. John Xu, District International Trade Officer for the Connecticut Small Business Administration Office will be the Presenter for this workshop. John is a certified Global Business Professional (CGBP) and has worked successfully with small businesses on the East Coast in the development of their export business potential.

Ferguson Library

SCORE Fairfield County and co-sponsor the Ferguson Library will present a free SCORE Small Business Workshop, “Business Goal Setting and Tracking“ Monday, May 11, 6-8 p.m., check-in starts at 5:30, at the Ferguson Library, 96 Broad Street, Stamford. Participants in this workshop will use the Technology of Goal Setting to create a real goal for their job or company in one of 8 Key Result Areas.

Speaker: Richard Lewine is Founder/President of RSL Consulting Group, LLC, an organization development consultancy. He has over 35 years of experience working with the leaders of small and mid-size organizations, for profit and non-profit, helping them clarify visions, formulate strategy and create personal and organizational goal systems. Richard has facilitated hundreds of management and leadership development workshops in the Northeast Corridor and is a SCORE mentor.

SCORE Fairfield County and co-sponsor the Greenwich Library will present a FREE SCORE Internet  Marketing for Small Business Workshop, “Search Engine Optimization” on Wednesday, May 13, 6-8 p.m., check-in starts at 5:30, at the  Greenwich Library, 101 West Putnam Avenue, Greenwich.

This workshop will look at SEO for small business owners – how to be found on search engine listings, how to improve your position and how you can optimize websites and social media for best results in “organic” (unpaid) search and local search results.

Presenter:  David Hoffman is Founder of Search Smart Marketing. His company integrates technology, strategy and project management. His clients include leading companies in Fairfield and Westchester counties and large national brands such as AutoNation, CARFAX, Bugaboo Strollers and First Capital.

New Canaan Library

SCORE Fairfield County and co-sponsor the New Canaan Library will present a free Small Business Workshop, “Making the Break from Employee to Consultant” on Thursday, May 14, from 6-8 p.m., check-in starts at 5:30, at the  New Canaan Library 151 Main Street, New Canaan.

This presentation will detail the key steps in setting up and growing a successful independent management consulting practice.

Speaker: Zuhair Suidan is the Principal of Suidan Associates, a marketing, strategic planning and business development consultancy. He was born in one continent, educated in two, consulted and trained in five. His life experiences are framed by many cultural and geopolitical undercurrents. After a varied 23 year career with IBM, he decided to go on his own, vowing never to work again for anyone but the customer. Since then his clients included a wide range of firms of different sizes, industries and competitive positions. Mr. Suidan has held scores of strategic planning workshops for clients and has taught graduate level Strategic Marketing and Strategic Management courses at the University of Connecticut and Fairfield University.

Norwalk Public Library

SCORE Fairfield County and Co-Sponsor the Norwalk Public Library will present a free Small Business Workshop, “How to Develop a Business Plan in Six Easy Steps” on Thursday, May 21, from 6-8 p.m., check-in starts at 5:30, at the Norwalk Public Library, 1 Belden Avenue, Norwalk.

Speaker:  John Harmon is Managing Director of Adulant Consulting Services which advises small and medium size businesses on strategies for growth and operating excellence. John has held senior leadership and executive positions at Eastman Kodak, the Gartner Group and Pitney Bowes in sales, marketing, quality management, strategic planning, and new business development. He is also a volunteer at SCORE.
