Fairfield for Good Government to meet

Fairfield for Good Government will meet Thursday, Oct. 11, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Scandinavian Club on South Pine Creek Road.

The meeting will address issues relating to seniors. First Selectman Mike Tetreau will speak about senior tax relief. This initiative came out of a lengthy meeting with the first selectman, according to organizers.

Those who wish to attend must make a reservation at [email protected] or 203-255-3960.

Fairfield for Good Government organized as an advocacy group for Fairfield residents to heighten public awareness of the effectiveness of town government. The organization’s primary function is to have an impact on how tax dollars are allocated and spent.

Fairfield for Good Government is a collaboration among several organizations, including We the People of Fairfield, Beach Area residents over assessed and the former Fairfield Taxpayers Association.

“FGG wants to create a more cooperative spirit with the first selectman and town directors, including the director of commercial development,” according to a press release. “We also want to develop a mutually beneficial and respectful relationship between FGG and the educational system, its superintendant and teachers. Finally, FGG wants to work cooperatively with the BOE, BOF, BOS as well as parents, PTAs and seniors to meet the goals of our organization.”
