Charitable group hosts designer house tour in Fairfield

Near & Far Aid recently held its annual designer house tour, with bright and sunny late spring weather.

Patrons from years past and new patrons descended on a journey of visiting five artfully designed homes in the gold coast communities of Fairfield, Southport and Westport.

The tour began with a power breakfast, featuring keynote speaker and nationally renowned designer Jeffrey Bilhuber at the Patterson Club in Fairfield.

Following his presentation, patrons embarked on a tour of five homes that ranged from modern to rustic chic and traditional. The tour culminated with the “toast the tour” party, which took place at a waterfront home estate in Fairfield, offering visitors panoramic views of the sunset on Long Island Sound.

“Once again, Near & Far Aid surpassed its own expectations and put together an amazing event that showcased five spectacular homes that displayed amazing décor and design inspiration to our patrons,” said Near & Far Aid President Jeanne Burris of Westport.

“We’re indebted to our scores of sponsors, volunteers and of course patrons, who make this day possible. Thanks to everyone’s collective generosity, Near & Far Aid will be able to continue to target poverty in Fairfield County.”

Burns said the group will make desperately needed grants to over 100 agencies and programs working to improve the lives of people affected by poverty.

Near and Far Aid provides funding for projects that address the causes and effects of poverty in Fairfield County. Money raised from fundraising events such as the Designer House Tour will support programs that help families at risk, adults in crisis, homelessness, elderly care and other select categories.
