Charles M. Sennott: “The War on Journalism”

Greens Farms Academy invites the community to an evening with Charles M. Sennott Tuesday, April 28, from 7:30-8:30 p.m., in the Choral Room at GFA, 35 Beachside Avenue, Westport.

Sennott is the founder and executive director of The GroundTruth Project, dedicated to training the next generation of international journalists for the digital age. He is an award-winning foreign correspondent, author, and editor with 30 years of experience in journalism.

Sennott has reported on the front lines of wars and insurgencies in at least 15 countries, including the 2011 revolution in Cairo and the Arab Spring. Previously, Sennott served as the Boston Globe’s Middle East bureau chief based in Jerusalem from 1997 to 2001 and as Europe bureau chief based in London from 2001 to 2005.

During his talk, he will share how today’s international journalists are targeted more than any other time in memory — a time of peril that directly impacts freedom of expression around the world.

This event is free and open to the public. To RSVP or to get more information, visit gfacademy.org/sennott or contact Alison Freeland at 203-256-7548 or email [email protected]
