Poem in Your Pocket Day at the Fairfield Public Library

Pockets will appear at the Main and Fairfield Woods Libraries Thursday, April 16, for the Library’s Poem in Your Pocket Day. Pockets full of poems will be hanging at the Circulation, Information and Children’s desks. Put a poem from our pocket into yours and share the poem with your family, friends and co-workers.

April is National Poetry Month and as part of the celebration you may pick our pockets of poems through April 30, National Poem in Your Pocket Day.

Poem in Your Pocket Day originated in New York City in 2002. In 2008, the Academy of American Poets took the initiative national. Each year on Poem in Your Pocket Day, schools, bookstores, libraries, parks, workplaces, and others participate.
