Reference USA: Career Search Strategies

Learn how to use Reference USA, a leading site for business and consumer research, to help you in your job search. Included in this program, led by a Reference USA account executive, will be information on the importance of having accurate information, creating engaging cover letters, assembling a network of references and referrers, finding key persons at a business to act as mentors, building datasets of potential employers, work history, preferences and more. This program will meet Wednesday, April 15, at 7 p.m., in the Rotary Room at the Main Library, 1080 Old Post Road. Registration is requested.

Presenter Michael Rey has been an account executive with Reference USA for 15 years. He has an extensive understanding of how to help people best market themselves through ReferenceUSA.com.

Another upcoming Jobs series talk this spring is “Strategic Online and Offline Networking” on May 12.

These presentations are part of the Library’s award-winning Jobs series, now in its sixth year. The talks are supplemented by a LinkedIn networking group, one-on-one career counseling sessions, Job Search Boot Camp, podcast recordings of over 100 past presentations (www.fairfieldpubliclibrary.org), and an updated collection of job-hunting books. Since January of 2012, 130 people who have attended Jobs series programs have reported they have found employment.
