Pequot Library named a destination site

The Connecticut Department of Tourism recently announced a partnership with Pequot Library. The state’s motto, “Connecticut Still Revolutionary” celebrates the state’s historic past and brings to life the innovation, fresh thinking and original ideas that are still very much a part of Connecticut’s essence today. As a destination site Pequot Library offers a unique experience to Fairfield residents and beyond. Residents and visitors alike make Pequot Library their “get away” destination, while they enjoy the surrounding beaches and restaurants.

With its many events and programs in literature and music, The Perkin Gallery, plus events in science, and the humanities, Pequot Library met all of the state’s requirements. Just as it has for centuries, Connecticut remains a haven for inspiration, original ideas and fresh thinking. A magnet for dreamers and doers, the state blends the old and historic with the young and energetic to create an inspiring dynamic — one that motivates people to experience new things, defy convention, and blaze their own trails.

Pequot Library’s robust programming plus dedicated art gallery with rotating exhibitions, the neighboring beach community, and high quality local restaurants helped the state of Connecticut decide to designate it as one of its “destination getaway locations.” Those seeking activities for the family, arts, culture, or relaxation can come to Pequot Library in Fairfield County where the city meets the country in this sophisticated region of Connecticut.
