Fairfield Junior Women's Club hosts membership drive

JuniorWomensClubFairfield1Interested in serving your community? Want to volunteer while meeting an inspiring group of women? Join The Junior Women’s Club of Fairfield. The JWC will hold its annual membership drive Wednesday, April 8, at 7:30 p.m. for women from Fairfield and surrounding towns, at The Burr Homestead, 739 Old Post Road.

Guest will enjoy complimentary wine tastings, sponsored by John Paul Development and international olive oil tastings from Dash N’ Drizzle of Fairfield. The theme for this year’s drive is “Celebrate Service,” Guests will have the chance to meet JWC members and recent charitable partners, learn about the club’s newest beneficiary, Alpha House, as well as take part in hands-on service projects.

Some of the projects include making fleece blankets for Brady’s Smile, preparing “reindeer food” for A Visit to Santa’s House, writing cards to be sent to our troops, and helping make IV pole decorations for local hospitals.

Admission is free, but guests may bring a cleaning product to donate to the CT Food Bank.

Open to women in Fairfield and nearby towns, the JWC is a non-profit service organization that gives members the chance to make new friends while giving back to the greater community through social and personal enrichment programs, fundraisers, and local events, such as Touch-a-Truck, A Visit to Santa’s House and the Town-wide Spelling Bee.
