Oscars Matinee movie series: 'Birdman'

birdmandvdPequot Library kicks off the Oscars in a matinee movie series Friday, March 27, from 3:30-6 p.m., with the winner of the 2015 Academy Award for Best Picture, Birdman, rated R.

Programs are free and open to the public; bring refreshments and enjoy a critically acclaimed film on “the big screen.” There will be general seating, no reservations are required.

The remaining films, all starting at 3:30, include: Friday, April 10: The Grand Budapest Hotel (R) – Nominee; Friday, April 17: The Theory of Everything (PG-13) – Nominee; Friday, April 24: Whiplash (R) – Nominee; Friday, May 1: American Sniper (R) – Nominee; Friday, May 8: Boyhood (R) – Nominee; Friday, May 15: The Imitation Game (PG-13) – Nominee; Friday, May 22: Selma (PG-13) – Nominee. The movies will be shown in Pequot Library’s Auditorium/Concert Hall.
