Kupchick celebrates Read Across America

State Representative Brenda Kupchick (R-132) visited Roger Sherman, Mill Hill and Riverfield Elementary Schools in Fairfield to participate in Read Across America Day.

In honor of Dr. Seuss’ birthday which was on March 2nd, Rep. Kupchick joined in the nationwide celebration by reading to  students in kindergarten through second grade.

“It’s always great fun to celebrate Read Across America with students in Fairfield & Southport,” said Rep. Kupchick. “Not only does this day serve to commemorate Dr. Seuss’ birthday, it also promotes learning and reading in a fun and motivational way. “I look forward to this every year, the kids are so much fun!”

Launched by the National Education Association in 1998, Read Across America Day involves more than 3.2 million teachers, librarians, athletes, celebrities, politicians, business professionals and everyday people reading to an estimated 45 million children in 2015.
